More Training

Well, We had 8 hours of adoption training today! Our social worker, Debby, led the training that focused mostly on preparing for the transition from orphanage/foster home care to OUR home. There was a LOT of talk about attachment and problems that can happen. It was a long 8 hours but the information was excellent and we learned a lot. I honestly thought, what can I learn? I have already parented 3 boys. The training really helped me to see what a child that is taken away from everything that they know and placed in a totally different environment might feel. What I got most from this is something that was even mentioned and that is the need to pray for all the details of the adoption, both before we get Hannah Grace and after she goes home. We pray that she we quickly feel that she is loved and begin that attachment process early. This Wednesday we are going to have our final visit for our home study. We just pray the boys don't beat up each other. God has been so evident throughout the process.
