The Boys Are Back In Town!

Well we made it. The camping trip was a success, even if there were a few snags:
1. The camera had gatorade spilled on it on Sat. I thought I had cleaned it up enough. But, just as I was trying to capture the first real moment of our trip - NO PICTURES!!!!!
2. As we stopped for lunch on our way up, we discovered, we had left the cooler behind. I wasn't upset, I think Andy really was. But, boy did I find it funny.
3. Sunday night was the coldest night so far this year. We woke up to a very shiny frost.
4. Elijah used up the entire collection of our first aid kit. I think we quit counting his "accidents" at about 8.
5. The boys (especially Noah) kept opening up the doors to the vehicles. He was constantly going in & out of the back hatch for some reason. Well, evidentally one time, or more, he must have left the light on a little too long. We had to have the van jumped off because the battery was going dead.
BUT, here's some of the positive things that came out of this trip:
1. I am going to have my camera checked out at the camera hospital. If it's too much for repair, I get to start seriously looking for a new one. YEAH!!!!
2. I have always wanted a cooler on wheels & that was all that Walmart in Camden had!!!! Again, Yeah Me.!!!
3. We all snuggled up tight because of the cool weather. We stayed in the tent on Monday morning and ate our breakfast because we had planned ahead. The donuts, fruit, & juice were right with us. We read stories, played games, & ate while waiting on it to warm up enough to get up.
4. Elijah is tougher than ever (hopefully). But he did learn not to take a scooter down the highest hill.
5. And now they are learning how to jump off a vehicle if need be. Using jumper cables isn't something I thought we would ever be teaching our boys at such an early age. ;0)
Over all the trip was great. We played, relaxed, & just enjoyed our time together. Nathan Bedford Forest State Park is great. There was a lot to do. We were really the only ones there. They even have a museum up on the Kentucky Lake commemorating a civil war battle. The only problem with this park,& probably why we will just go back to play not sleep, is somewhere near there are train tracks. Every 30 minutes after about 11:00 at night a train passes by & blows his whistle. I just thought I would warn you in case you wanted to visit.
We even took Noah on a mile hike through the woods. Yes, he complained most of the way, but at least he got some fresh air & exercise. I have a TON of laundry to do. But, once we get settled, I'll be back with some other topics. Have a good day.

Sounds like ya'll had fun! You are a good mama to go camping. I encourage Chris to take the boys as often as he wants and let Lils and I have a "girl weekend". Tents, cold, dirt...they just don't appeal to me!
