First Field Trip

The boys running to get to the 72 foot mound.

Heath & Evan in front of the museum

We made it to the top!

Best friends since the 5th grade - How awesome is that!

Even though you can't tell, they were breathing hard ;0)

Isn't that sweet?

What? It's just the Forked Deer River.

Today we met my best friend Amy & her son over at Pinson Mounds. It's a state park of a little over 400 acres filled with Indian mounds. When we got there the first thing we had to check out was the playground where Evan was. After running off a little energy we went in the museum. We found out that there was a "movie" we could watch & she could show it to us at any time. So, we decided to go ahead & walk some of the nature trails & climb a few mounds then come back. WOW. I had forgotten how high it was. Needless to say, I think after today Amy & I feel a little more compelled to get back in shape. It was definately an eye opener - I AM NOT READY FOR THE GREAT WALL!!!!!!! We ended up walking for over two hours. By the end of the trail all the boys were whining that they were tired & hungry. So, we found a picnic area & had our lunch. You didn't think we would go without, did you? After eating we made it to the educational part of the day. We went in to the museum, picked up some literature, watched the "movie", and then "played" with the exhibits. My absolute favorite part of the day has to do with the "movie." Once it started we all settled into our seats to watch & marvel over the great 70's documentary. Evan leans over to his mom & says "I thought we were going to get to watch a GOOD movie." Oh the joys of boys!!!!
And a plug for Andy. Tonight he took me out to see FIREPROOF. It's great. Everyone should see it. The audience was clapping when it was over & of course I had to join in. Go see it. Support these wonderful people who spend lots of money for us to be able to see good films. Looking forward to their next one.
