Big Fun Day

This morning our church had their yearly Resurrection Run. It's a 5K run with a 1mile fun walk/run. It's held each year to raise moneys for different projects. This year it was to help raise money for our children's ministry's BIG PROJECT. They have been working hard all year to raise money for a family in our church body. Bro. Robin has set a goal of $10,000 this year. Yes, that's a huge goal, but they are really close to making it this year. I am so proud of the kids. Last year they raised money for water wells in Africa (blood water mission) I think when it was all said & done they ended up funding 2 1/2 wells. Way to go kids!!!
Today Andy, Heath & Elijah ran in the fun walk. They have been training/practicing for the 5K but I think they were still a little nervous about going that far just yet. They had a couple of friends that made it & I think it has inspired them. They are already making plans for next year. So, we'll see. (Did I mention how excited they are about their green shirts they got?) Way to go guys. I am so proud of you!!!!
Elijah coming in to the Finish Line!

On Your Mark. Get Set. Go!! Yes, that's Heath in the far left - my camera has a bad delay.

Then this afternoon Andy started another big project - this is the year the boys are learning to mow the yard!!!! Heath was so excited. He couldn't wait to get his hands on the mower. He started strong, but as you can imagine - the newness wore off quickly. He said it was hard (we have a small yard & the lawnmower is self-propelled). This may be a long summer. LOL
Learning how to make the turns just right.

PUSH PUSH PUSH!!!!!
Thanks Heath for helping Dad & working really hard even though you didn't really like it. You are growing up to be such a wonderful young man. You are making us proud. Love ya

Updates: Nothing new as far as Ethiopia goes.
Hannah Grace - we sent off our VISA applications this week. We have her care package ready to be mailed off early next week. I am praying that they at least show her the photo album of us. We've also included a book of questions that would be nice if they were able to answer for us - we'll see. Selfishly I ask that you pray that she gets the album & starts to "fall in love" with us like we've done with her video and pictures. I'll be sure to post pictures of her package when I get it all laid out. We've got her room painted. We will be painting the trim possibly tomorrow or very early next week. So, her room will be ready to go. I've got to sit down & start looking at all the paperwork that we are supposed to be filling out. I guess that will be in my very near future. We are also having our first shower next Sunday. Andy's work has graciously invited us to a potluck luncheon to celebrate Hannah Grace. I think it's going to be alot of fun. They even invited our families to come. Very special times indeed.

Have a wonderful weekend. I hope you all take some time to stop & really think about what this weekend is all about. I know it isn't the easiest thing to do. But it's so worth it when you get to Sunday & realize how truly special it is that He wasn't found in that tomb - that He rose from the grave. It's really amazing to me to think of all the awful things my Lord & Savior went through just for me & you. He loves us that much. Let's not take it for granted. Thank Him for His love. He's waiting.... &...... HE'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!
