3 months down

Elijah - Toby Mac wanna be
&
Hannah Grace - Miss Priss true Southern Belle

3 months ago our lives changed forever - for the best! We walked into the Beijing Social Welfare Institute to meet the newest Morris. It seems strange that she has only been with us for just a short 3 months. She has grown so much during that time. She has learned as much in those 3 months that most kids learn in 3 years.
So what have we learned so far?
  • bandaids stick better if you put clear tape on top of them
  • if the boys are arguing, all you have to do is put on a pouty face & run to Mama with a sad story - works like a charm
  • if anything gets hurt - it requires MANY bandaids
  • forks & spoons aren't as hard to use as originally thought
  • bread is still poisonous
  • bugs (& anything crawling) are of the devil
  • we don't always like being spoken to in Mandarin
  • Bro. Robin hung the moon
  • if you shake your head yes to everything - it works most of the time, even when you are wrong (then it gets smiles out of the adults)
  • when you let your hair grow out - it can be difficult to accept that you MUST wear either a clip or bow - she wants long hair & mama wants to see her eyes
  • friends are easy to make
  • school will be fun but we've gotta work on a longer attention span
  • NO is a universal word
  • attitude comes with being 4
  • after experiencing many family birthdays you wake up everyday expecting today to be the "famous Dec.22"
  • Christmas needs to hurry up & get here cause she needs her own camera
  • shopping is alot more fun with a girl than with a boy
  • she wants to go to "opia" to meet Elwwie-Joey
  • sleep doesn't come very fast if you've had ice cream after 8:00
  • short legs make riding toys very interesting (we're going shopping this weekend to fix this problem)
  • hot weather can be tolerated when you stay in the house naked
  • ALL things are MINE
  • all books are now Bibles
  • it's more fun to wear big people shoes instead of ones that acutally fit
  • she would grow gills & live in the water if we'd let her
  • she agrees with Noah that thunder isn't very nice
  • its still easier to be carried than to actually walk on her own
  • still trying to decide: are tattle tales born or created? LOL
  • singing into a microphone is lots more fun than just plain ol' singing
  • beds are squishy enough here to jump on them
  • bathrooms aren't places of privacy for anyone (boy or girl)
  • she has mastered dot to dot, memory, & whack a mole on Dad's phone
  • mosquito repellant is a MUST
  • she's very flexible
  • she gets nervous anytime we pull into a parking garage because she thinks she's going back to a hospital (the international adoption clinic took 9 viles of blood & I don't think she will ever forget or forgive them!)
  • she commands attention wherever she goes
  • she has given up the title of princess for the bigger title of Queen (can you say bossy?)
  • she makes a great nurse - very loving & comforting
  • & much, much more...

We love ya sister. Can't wait to see what fun adventures we are going to have in the next 3 months.

This was great! Robin did hang the moon. I was there. I also don't always like being spoken to in Mandarin! I can't wait to meet the princess next week and see the rest of you.
