I Shouldn't Complain About My 5 Minute Commute

And I thought it was bad when we were there in May. WOW. In case you haven't heard - the world's largest traffic jam can be found in Beijing, China. For the last 10 days or so they've been stuck in a 60+ (yes, that says over 60!!!!) mile traffic jam. Can you imagine? I honestly can't wrap my mind around this one. But, I can believe it. We discussed the traffic multiple times with our guide. She explained how many thousands of new vehicles are added to the roads DAILY. That along with the construction (no, their infrastructure won't be able to keep up with this) & now multiple wrecks is causing quite the headache there. Drivers are complaining about how the local merchants are taking advantage of those stuck. All I can say is "Welcome to the world of capitalism!"
I really do feel sorry for them. The construction isn't supposed to be completed until mid September. God Bless Them!!!!!!!
