Can't Wait, Can't Wait, Can't Wait

The orphan conference starts TOMORROW!!!!!! Several friends are going & I am looking forward to meeting a few "online" friends & some of Andy's LifeWay folk & I am going with a new friend who I hope will become a good ole' friend. We just met at last month's adoption group meeting. They haven't lived here long so I haven't had much of a chance to really get to meet her. (Nothing like going out of town with someone & staying together to get to know someone!!!) I just know we are going to have a wonderful time. Besides the conference we are going to have so much to talk about - we are both working on our homestudy for our sweet African children. They are going to Uganda so theirs is a little different, but their hearts are still the same.
God is planning something major for this weekend. I just know it. I just received an email saying that there were over 600 people coming to this conference. WOW I am just praying that this is a sign that God is ready for His church to step up and be all that He has called us to be. I was just talking to another adoptive mommy recently & she said something that I thought was interesting. She was saying that it seemed that there was more of an awareness for orphans & adoptions in general than in years past. I thought about that for a while. Is it true? Or are we just aware because we are in the middle of it? I don't know the answer to that. I hope and pray that it's true. If it isn't, I pray that I can be one of the ones to make it more visible. There are 147 MILLION orphans out there who need us. Church - it's time to take a stand!
