May I have a drum roll please......
God has given us the biggest blessing. We have a daughter. Unfortunately, right now I can't post any identifying information about her on the internet (if you want to email me - I'd be happy to share her adorable little face!)
I apologize for not updating yesterday like I said I would. Our agency asked me not to. Apparently there were quite a few people that were drawn to this little girl. (Actually she was one of the most requested bigger girls.) And they wanted to make sure everyone was notified. They wanted to make sure they heard it from them, and I can understand and respect that. We will be able to post her picture as soon as we receive our LOA (letter of acceptance) from China. Stay tuned for some cuteness.
We are still in shock. I can't believe we were matched with her. All Andy & I could say yesterday was we are numb. That was our word for the day. NUMB. I felt kind of bad because some people were more emotional than I was. What's wrong with that? Well, we went to bed a little after midnight. I was wide awake by 1:30 and then by 2:00 I gave up and got the computer out and turned on the tv. Did you know there is a show on TLC (of course) about adoptions? It's called Adoption Stories - Look Out. I sat there & cried like a baby. It hit me. She's my daughter. There is a birth mom out there somewhere that is going to miss out on all the joys & blessings that we are going to be so fortunate to share with her. I am getting teary eyed, just thinking about it. Just so you know, I am not numb anymore. It is beginning to settle in.
We hope to travel sometime in June. I'd love to pray for a miracle & be able to travel earlier, but with Megan's wedding, having to plan for a BIG GIRL (still frantically looking for bedding so we'll know how to paint her room), packing, learning some phrases in Mandarin, and all the paperwork - I am confident that 4 months is going to fly by.
Thanks for being there with us during this journey. We appreciate all the support and prayers that you all have given us. We will never be able to repay you. We pray that God will bless you as much, if not more, than He has us.
We love you all.
