I have never seen a child get so excited about a wrestling rink before. All he asked for was wrestling related toys. From the smile, you can just imagine - there were squeals that came with it. He ran around jumping up & down for what seemed like hours. At least he got his exercise in that afternoon. ;0)

Our church gets the honor of working in an apartment complex each week. They feed the kids then they "have church." Then at Christmas we "adopt" some of them who might need a little help during that time. It's a lot of fun & all ages gets involved. These were some of my favorite shots from that day. We were able to help one of the sweetest boys & his mom. Elijah & him have been friends for several years because they are the same age. They've been to school together & then they are paired up when Elijah goes over to the apartment complex. So, I asked them to be still for just a couple of minutes - yes, I was probably asking alot from an 8 year old, but a scrapbookin' mama has to do what she has to do. If you've never experienced the joy of giving to someone - you need to try it. It feels amazingly good to help someone out. And the fun part is - you can never out give God. He will always bless you more than you can imagine. I think I could break out in tears just thinking about it. It wasn't hard for us to go pick out some things for him (even though finding some wrestling stuff was hard at the time). It wasn't hard for us to give up our Sunday afternoon nap. It wasn't hard to make sure it was all wrapped up. But what a HUGE difference it made in a little boys' life and what I gained from it was so much more than those simple little things.
