Olympic Update

Okay let me explain. Remember when I told you that the family was all going to pick a country? We all are cheering on USA & China. Then we each have our own seperate country. Noah picked Thailand, I am guessing because I have been there. Anyway, we all did a little (Emphasis on a little) research on the country, found it on the map, studied the atlas, and made the representative flag. Well, after everyone chose, Andy decided to look up each country's past experience in the olympics. Guess what country, until this year, has not won even one single medal? Yep, you guessed it. Now, that may not seem like a big deal to most, but when you live with the "little old man" like we do - it's a major deal. We tried to explain that it might be a good idea to pick another country. Nope, wouldn't have it. We tried to get him to help me or Andy with ours. Again, notta. Okay, Noah but they probably won't win ANYTHING. Well, I guess Noah prayed for little Thailand, because low & behold, they won a medal. And not just any medal - they won the GOLD. A Little bitty 5'2" 119 lbs. woman won a gold medal (can't even begin on her name) for WEIGHTLIFTING!!!! I just couldn't believe it!!! We told Noah when we were looking up the count & he didn't act one bit suprised. So, way to go. You've made your country proud & you've made one little 10 year old VERY HAPPY.

I'll keep you posted & let you know how it's going. I think I had grand visions in my head when I planned this. It's been fun, but not at all what I thought it would be. -C
