Dragon dance - to scare away evil spirits in the area of the major earthquake last year.
The color red is supposed to scare away evil.
Happy Chinese New Year. Tonight our area adoption group is meeting at a local restaurant. We have the whole place reserved just for us. The Chinese ladies are going to speak to us about The Spring Festival. I am looking forward to what they are going to teach us. They are also setting up a Wii for the kids so I know everyone will have a great time. It's amazing to me the importance of such a holiday. For a lot of Chinese, this is the only time that they get off work & get to go back home (all year). I admire their work ethic, but I hurt for them & the many hardships that they must endure as a country. I can't imagine the mentality that they must have. It's just another reminder to pray that China will embrace Jesus & let Him love on them the way He so desperately wants to. God created a beautiful country of people that is called China. And I am so blessed that He is allowing me to join their family.
