Backtracking

While I have been on my sabbatical CCAA sent out referrals that covered 6 days. Yes, I said 6. So, in honor of my favorite saying that I love to hear in the Fall..."Give me six...." The boys pulled six slips from the countdown & I thought I would share what we learned. I may not make it all in this post, but I will get it in soon.

#81. Confucius - he taught self-enlightenment through 5 virtues (I told the boys he's a famous man who people still today remember some of the things he said. ;0)

#89. Urumqi, Xingiang - in the Guinness Book of Records as the most remote city from sea in the world - 1,400 miles form the nearest coastline. (I am so thankful I don't live there because you know those people don't make it to the beach for vacations. How sad for them!!!!)

#62. Tao Te Ching - most beloved & widely translated Chinese philosophical text, written by Lao Tzu ( I was suprised that it wasn't by Confucius)

#235. KuaiBan (clappers) - Chinese verse stories were traditionally recited to the beat of bamboo clappers.

The other two are a little more detailed so I will save them for next time. Just so you know we are now down to 386 LIDS left. So we are still on our slow boat to China (around the house we say we are actually riding on the back of a turtle. The boat was too crowded or we couldn't afford to buy the ticket.)

Great news! I got your comment on my blog and Nicky FIANLLY talked to our account. She said we could just set the foundation up like the churches do and it would only cost around $250 up front and then $20 a year. I'll get Nick to explain more to me and let you know. The account just returned his phone call yesterday!
