We're Moving Right Along

This is how I have felt this go around. Last time (3 years ago) I thought all the paperwork was a breeze, even went as far as telling people that it wasn't too bad. I mean really, I had tons of papers in college that were more than this adoption stuff. Surely I can put together a dossier. Well, this time I am feeling a little stressed & I really shouldn't. So far I think actually it's been less but it's getting to this old woman. Every night Andy & I have been sitting down and working on financials, questions, and then more questions. It's amazing to me how much info we have to give to people to adopt (don't get me wrong I totally understand all the SICKOS out there). But we have to go through training to make sure we're going to raise these kids in the best way possible. Why is it that when a woman walks into a Dr.'s office pregnant that they don't have to prove a thing? I mean really. No one even bothers to check to see if they have a fire extinguisher in the house, let alone two working ones.
OOOPS. Sorry didn't mean to get on that soap box. I'll just step down now. We'll have to come back to that later.
As far as paperwork goes, we have done all we can do now. I just found out late this afternoon that our social worker is coming to our house Thursday for our homestudy visit. That should be fun. The house is a reck, but c'est la vie. I'll be out all day tomorrow so she'll just have to see how we Morrises live. Anyhoo. I'll let you know how it goes & what's next. I think the only major thing we will have to work on is our fingerprints. They are getting close to expiring. The good news is we can get "in line" with our agency without all that finished. We are so close. Almost there. GO.GO.GO
