Today, after two seperate requests for information for the department of homeland security, we received approval to adopt 1 child from Ethiopia. I find it rather amusing that they have approved us 3 times for China without any hitches, but yet they had so many questions when it came to this one. Oh well. The important thing is that in the eyes of the US govt. we have passed their inspection. Ebaby - here we come!!!!!!
Update for the wild China ride - we received an email from our SW today saying we'd know on Tuesday whether we were matched or not. I know I have mentioned this on several different occasions, but why is it that we can wait over 3 years for this adoption & now ONE MORE DAY is going to be the death of me? I think in the world of international adoption, one part of the training for agencies should be "NOT to make the potential parents wait ANY more time than absolutely necessary." Is that too much to ask for? But, at least now, we know what day it's going to be. I will be getting up early that day - if I get any sleep at all.
I've emailed another family from our original 4-4-07 LID group (HEY *S*!.) They plan on asking for a couple or three kiddos from this group also. I am excited that lots of people are looking at these kids. Here's hoping that there are many matches next week - even if it isn't us. Praying they all find their perfect forever family.
Today's "Well, what are you thinking?" answer is we don't think so. Yes, we'd love to be matched. And yes, I'll be sad & heartbroken if it isn't her. But, we are feeling that since our LID is 4-4-07 that there will be lots of people with a LID in '06 that will probably request her. And yes, they deserve to be matched first since they have been waiting so much longer (if you can imagine that!)
